La giuria del World Press Photo of the Year 2015 ha comunicato i vincitori di questa edizione, a partire da Mads Nissen!–occhiello:end–>a

Arrivano da Amsterdam i nomi dei vincitori del più prestigioso premio di fotogiornalismo internazionale, e la foto dell’anno 2014 è del danese Mads Nissen con una foto del progetto “Homophobia in Russia” realizzato per Scanpix.

Una foto che ritrae l’intimità di Jon ed Alex, una coppia gay a San Pietroburgo, nella Russia che riserva alle minoranze sessuali odio e discriminazioni, legali e sociali, insieme a molestie e crimini violenti, perpetrati da gruppi religiosi e nazionalistici conservatori con il bene placido di chi governa.

Una foto esteticamente potente che Michele McNally, presidente della giuria direttore della fotografia e assistant managing editor del The New York Times, non ha esitato a definire

“un momento storico per l’immagine… la foto vincitrice deve essere estetica, per avere l’impatto e la potenzialità per diventare iconica. Questa foto è esteticamente potente e ha umanità”.

Fulvio Bugani, Turi Calafato, Giulio Di Sturco, Paolo Marchetti, Michele Palazzi, Andy Rocchelli, Massimo Sestini, Gianfranco Tripodo, Giovanni Troilo e Paolo Verzone sono i 10 fotografi italiani vincitori di diverse categorie, mentre Contrasto si aggiudica due premi, con Michele Palazzi (Primo Premio, Daily Life, Storie) e Gianfranco Tripodo (Terzo Premio, General News, Foto singole).

L’atteso appuntamento con la mostra dei vincitori del World Press Photo 2015 che potete iniziare a sbirciare in questa gallery, partirà con il consueto tour itinerante in tutto il mondo , facendo tappa al Museo di Roma in Trastevere, dal 29 aprile al 22 maggio 2015, mentre a Contrasto spetta l’onere e l’onore di raccogliere tutto in un libro.
