Alex Majoli, Migranesimo – Greece. 2015. A syrian refugee woman desperately searching for her two year old child which she lost on the journey to Pireus from Lesbos.
While I was photographing the refugees coming into the port, I noticed this woman who was desperately searching for her lost child and was surprised to see her leave without having found her. She was faced with a hard decision: choosing to leave a child behind and carry on her journey for her other children’s sake or lose the bus that would take her to the next checkpoint of her journey.

Con il proposito di definire i confini della rappresentazione del reale e dare una voce alle mille identità del Mediterraneo, le sue contaminazioni e quella della fotografia contemporanea, sono pronte a raggiungere il centro storico di Monopoli con la prima edizione di PhEst – See Beyond the Sea.

Dopo le giornate inaugurali del 15-18 settembre, ricche di incontri, letture portfolio gratuite, visite guidate con fotografi, concerti e proiezioni all’aperto, la manifestazione dislocata in varie sedi del borgo antico della cittadina in provincia di Bari, andrà avanti dal 15 settembre al 30 ottobre 2016, con il contributo di 9 fotografi ben noti al pubblico di esperti e appassionati.
